Backing Up - Keeping your data safe

Most people tend not to think about computer backups until it is too late.  What happens if your hard drive crashes?  It really is not all that uncommon for something like this to happen.  Worse yet, what about a Fire or Flood?

I have been using Carbonite (www.carbonite.com) for a while now.  I think it is the best backup service out there hands down.  They do not limit how much data you can back up, and they do the back up automatically without you having to remember to do anything.  It is a great service for those who are not technically savvy as well.  Once it is set up, you can forget about it.  You know your files are safely backed up because of the little green dot that shows up next to them on your computer.  There are external hard drives and software you can purchase to keep your data backed up, but they do not do much good in the event of a Fire or other natural disaster.  For about fifty dollars per year you can sleep easy knowing your data is safe regardless of what comes your way.

Happy Computing, and keep that data safe!
